Education at The Waldo

The Waldo has made access to Theatre Arts Education for youth one of its priorities. Through the generosity of donations, sponsorship, and grants, The Waldo has designed a program to bring theatre arts directly into the classroom and the students into the theatre! If you are a principal, teacher, or parent interested in having The Waldo work with your students, please explore all of our educational offering in the tabs under Education or simply email us at  education@thewaldotheatre.org

The Waldo's Education Program is proud to celebrate the success of Penelope and the Gods of Olympus, this summer's production camp. Eleven students with a wide variety of theatrical and personal experience came together to not only perform a new play, but also to develop the critical performance skills of collaboration, movement, and voice. Teaching Artists challenged students to take risks and broaden their creative horizons. They performed for close to 60 people and all proceeds funded The Education Scholarship Fund.

It was an honor to celebrate these young artists and see them grow, learn, and succeed. Here are some thoughts from those participated:

"We’ve never seen our child so excited to participate in an activity. Seeing her blossom on stage will be a forever memory (for her and us)." - Participant's Parent

"This was a wonderful program. I would say the overall atmosphere was great. Very welcoming. Great communication." - Participant's parent

"What is the play for next year? Can I sign up now?" - Participant

"Please do this again!" - Participant

"My child was mesmerized by the entire performance" - Audience member
